Buying and unlocking
Some templates are free, others are paid. Free ones need nothing further. You recognise a paid one by the badge Paid and by the detail page offering Buy / Unlock instead of Add.
One-time purchase, no expiry
Section titled “One-time purchase, no expiry”- You buy once. After that the configuration belongs to your tenant: no subscription, no expiry date, no lock at runtime. If a payment stalls, a board never fails in production.
- You may add the template to this tenant any number of times, for example for a second line under another namespace. That costs nothing extra.
- Updates are included as long as they stay within the purchased major versions (if you buy 1.x, all 1.y). The detail page states it under Updates. For a new major version we decide per template whether buyers of the old one get it as well.
- The unlock applies to your tenant. A second tenant needs a purchase of its own.
- A package unlocks all of its templates.
Only what comes from us is checked: adding and updates. Once you have added a template, it runs independently of that.
Unlocking
Section titled “Unlocking”On the detail page Buy / Unlock opens a dialog; without a particular template use Activate code or file at the top of the store. There are three ways:
- Code. You receive a code of the form
TSK-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXand enter it under I have a code (case does not matter). The installation redeems it with TrakState and gets the unlock key back. This needs an internet connection. A code can be redeemed once. - File. You receive a file
*.tsunlock, issued for exactly your tenant, and upload it under I have an unlock file. This works without internet and is the way for on-prem. A file passed on is useless to another tenant. - Request. Request a purchase (invoice): enter name and message and send. We send the invoice and then a code or a file.
For a tenant in our cloud the operator may also unlock directly in the console; the template then simply shows as Purchased.
If the unlock is missing, the plan lists it under Cannot be added yet with the template’s id. After unlocking, the template carries the badge Purchased and you add it like any other (see Templates and the store).
